Japan to allow Visa-free travel for foreign tourists from October 11

The prime minister announced Japan will resume visa-free entry for independent tourists from next month.
At present Japan only allows package tours, and required visas for all visitors, in an effort to control the spread of Covid-19.
Starting on Oct 11, Japan allowed visa-free short term travel for people from 68 countries, such as Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, etc. Those country not require to book tours through travel agencies.
The government hopes to boost the economy through inbound tourism, taking advantage of the weak yen. Besides that, they will also relaunch a nationwide travel discount program, which was halted due to the spread of Covid-19 infections.
