Visa Requirement for Malaysian in Japan

 

Do not need Visa: -

1. Malaysian nationals holding biometric passport with ICAO standard do not need visa to enter Japan for a short term stay not more than 90 days for tourism, transit, business meeting, visiting friends and relatives in Japan.

Need Visa: -

1. For Malaysian who plan to stay more than 90 days for work or study in Japan has to apply visa with Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Immigration Bureau in Japan before entering Japan.

2. You are required to have sponsor in Japan such as employer/ a school.
    
3. The Certificate of Eligibility should submit to an Immigration Inspector with a valid visa for landing permission at the port of entry shall cease to be valid if the application for landing permission is not filed within 3 months from the date of issue. If fail to enter Japan within 3 months, you may be refused enter even with a valid visa.
